Corporate Social Responsibility at MGM

MGM hospital CBD Belapur takes social responsibility as important as other tasks of the hospital and equally respects the poor and needy patient of the society

SPECTRUM OF FREE AND CONCESSIONAL TREATMENT TO DESERVING POPULATION

Hospital renders 100% free medical Care to persons belonging to the Below Poverty section and 50% percent concession to the persons belonging to the weaker sections of the society.

Hospital also extends concessional care to the residents of old age home (Narmada Niketan), senior citizen, homeless, unknown persons brought by Police and many other groups.

MGM also manages a Health Centre for Slum Residents living in Ramabai Nagar, Sambhaji Nagar and Durga Mata Nagar in sector 8, CBD Bealpur where 100% free treatment including drugs and investigations is provided.

The MGM has also started a project to detect anemic mothers in slum areas and provide them 100% free supplementation of Iron folic acid and proteins. Some 300 women are benefitting from the above project.

CONTRIBUTION TO POOR PATIENT FUND

Hospital contributes 2% of its gross earning to the poor patient fund every month. An account has been opened in Abhyudaya Co Operative Bank CBD Belapur to which this contribution is credited every month. During previous five years hospital has contributed Rs.76, 89,873 to the poor patient fund.

Using poor patient fund hospital has provided free and concessional treatment to 697 patients admitted in the hospital belonging to below poverty line and weaker sections of the local population. Number of patients from the above group has received wide ranging free care including all types surgeries as well. All above contribution to the poor patient fund and expenditure is monitored and audited by the Charity Commissioner, Thane.

CONCESSIONAL TREATMENT

Hospital has rendered concessional treatment (ranging from 10 to 40%) to further 35043 patients who were admitted in this hospital for their treatment.

Hospital has spent further Rs. 1, 17, 51, 970 between year 2010 and year 2014 over the period of five years on the above concessional treatment of the cases.

HEALTH CENTRE FOR SLUM AND SURROUNDING POPULATION

MGM has been managing a Health Centre for free treatment of slum and other population at Punjab Cultural Association Bhavan in sector 8, CBD Belapur since July 2013. This centre has provided free care to almost 38,000 patients during the above period and spent Rs 15, 13,230 on staff salary and drugs.

Following is the summary of expenditure incurred on the free and concessional treatment to the patients attending OPD, IPD of MGM Hospital & Research Centre and Health Centre in sector 8, CBD Belapur between year 2010 and year 2014.

Briefly MGM Hospital & Research Centre, CBD Belapur has complimented the efforts of CIDCO to provide affordable health care to the local population and has also invested Rs. 2,94, 15, 189 worth charity and concession to the deserving population belonging to below poverty line and weaker sections of the society and also to those who are not covered under definition of two above groups but still not well provided economically.
